Project Manager – Flooring & Commercial Projects

  • Floorstore Leeds, Roseville Road
  • £26,500 to £32,000 a year
  • Full time, permanent

The role

As our commercial project activity continues to grow, we’re looking for an organised and commercially minded Project Manager to join our team and take responsibility for coordinating projects from initial enquiry and pre-start through to installation, completion and handover.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring flooring projects are properly planned, coordinated and delivered on time, within budget and to the standard expected by both Floorstore and our clients.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining office-based project management with regular client and site interaction. You’ll work closely with customers, contractors, flooring installers, suppliers and our internal teams to keep projects moving and resolve issues before they impact delivery.

What you'll do

Manage commercial flooring projects from pre-start through to completion and handover.
Act as a key point of contact for clients throughout the delivery of each project.
Develop and maintain project programmes, installation schedules and key deadlines.
Coordinate flooring installers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
Arrange materials and deliveries to ensure products are available in line with installation programmes.
Attend client meetings, pre-start meetings and site meetings where required.
Carry out and assist with site measures, surveys and project scoping.
Monitor project costs and budgets to ensure jobs remain commercially on track.
Identify, record and manage variations, additional works and changes to project scope.
Coordinate relevant site documentation, including RAMS and other project requirements.
Ensure works are delivered in accordance with appropriate health and safety requirements.
Monitor installation quality and proactively resolve any site or service issues.
Manage snagging and outstanding works through to final completion.
Maintain accurate project records and provide regular progress updates internally and to clients.
Review project performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service and profitability.
Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers.

About you

  • Experience managing multiple projects, sites or workstreams simultaneously.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients, contractors and site teams.
  • Good commercial awareness, including experience monitoring project costs and budgets.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and work to changing deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and resolving issues.
  • Confidence working independently as well as part of a wider team.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using project management and business systems.
  • An understanding of construction site processes and health and safety requirements.
  • A full UK driving licence due to regular site visits.

Previous project management experience within flooring, construction, fit-out or a similar environment would be advantageous, although flooring-specific experience is not essential for the right candidate.
