You may feel a little daunted at first by all the different floors that we feature, but we believe in choice and we practice what we preach. Your project is unique, the floor you choose needs to be the right one for you and it needs to last a very long time. This is why we offer such a broad range of wood floors; to make sure that you make the right choice.
All of our ranges feature an extensive range of natural, easy to maintain flooring that creates the perfect ambience for its surroundings, whilst providing the individuality you expect from a floor as unique as you are.
Hardwood flooring is a natural and beautiful product which is why we recommend viewing a large format sample at one of our store in Leeds & Wakefield.
Engineered Wood Flooring
Engineered wood flooring is precision-made of layered sections of solid wood bonded together. With Ted Todd engineered wood, the grain of each piece runs in a different direction to the adjacent layer, enhancing strength and resilience and reducing the wood’s natural tendency to expand and contract. This means they are less susceptible to movement from moisture or heat and thus are recommended for use with underfloor heating. Engineered wood flooring options, unlike solid wood, do not need to be nailed or glued to the sub-floor. Ted Todd is unique in that all of our engineered wood flooring boards are constructed of nothing less than 100% hardwood.
Solid Wood Flooring
The traditional flooring choice, each plank in these ranges is a single piece of solid wood, expertly cut to varied lengths and widths, sometimes bevelled and enhanced by a range of finishes.
A solid hardwood floorboard gives an unrivalled feeling of tradition, they are hardwearing and resilient, can be re-sanded many times and can last well over 100 years. A key characteristic is what we at Ted Todd refer to as ‘shape’, by which we mean how the wood lays. Solid wood does not sit flat on the floor; it has living form and subtle contours which respond to the environment and create a gentle but noticeable sensation underfoot.
You know when you are walking on a Ted Todd solid hardwood floor; the extra long plank lengths, the random widths and above all, the sturdy traditional feel that leaves you with no doubt that you will be leaving a legacy.
